Investigators found that none of the billed equipment was being utilized on any Mid-South Synergy fleet vehicle. However, Mid-South Synergy had the same invoice number, dated the same day with the purchase description listed as “replacement bumper, steps, light bars, cap cover, Weathertech mats, seat covers, window tint, spray-in bed liners, shackle and truck cover for a total of $6,614.”
The audit revealed the men altered approximately 60 invoices between their companies.Īccording to the probable cause statement by Navasota Police, one example of an altered invoice was the purchase through Texas Custom Outfitters of a “small Smitty Bilt front bumper, Smitty Bilt winch, body armor doors, NFAB steps, Toyo tires, Moto wheels, Super Chips programmer, gas cap cover, Weathertech mats, window tint, rear replacement bumpers, Poison Spyder fender flares Bestop Trek Top and Shackles for a total of $6,614.”
